What a day!
I had a call back for a job interview ...MOST important....so training got bumped back. Then I realised that I needed to eat as it had been 10 hours since breakfast.....training got bumped back til 7pm. As its been a really hot day this was a great time to train...but sadly the wind had picked up and was going to make doing a fartlek a little tricky.
I had already decided to take it easy tonight and not push myself too hard as I dont want to upset healing little niggles.
As soon as I started out my ankle stiffened and was annoying me...not enough to say OUCH...just annoyed me. Then the bottom of my hamstring (at base of knee on inside of leg) started hurting. This has been hurting for the last 4 days. Not really sure what I did to it. Again it was not enough to make me stop but it was enough to cause me to just pull back a little.
The 5km out was into a head wind the 5km back was with a very gentle to zero tail wind as the wind abated by the time I turned.
Total time 58:10 avg heart rate was 155 max 168...so shows I was working fairly hard when it was needed.
1 - 2:49+2:52 = 5:41
2 - 3:09+2:45 = 5:54
3 - 2:58+2:53 = 5:51
4 - 3:01+2:54 = 5:55
5 - 3:02+2:48 = 5:50
6 - 3:11+2:45 = 5:56
